Notes for Andrew (Andreas) Timan & Anna Thealine (Family) |
In 1906 they went to New York with 18 month old Aslaug (Elsie). Because the climate did not agree with Anna, they moved to Anaconda, Montana where several families from Haugesund had settled. He was a foreman of the "Rope Gang" in Anaconda. Because the air pollution caused by the copper smelter where he worked bothered him, he & the family moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1919 where he worked as a pipefitter helper in the "Midwest Oil Refinery". In 1930 the family moved to Los Angeles and then to San Pedro where he worked as a rigger (hook tender) at Todd Shipyards. |
