Price. Witnesses: N. W. (Dr. Noah Wesley) Gable, J. M. (James, son of Robert Bridges and Sarah Price) Bridges, J. G. (James) Posey. After Sam's death, Irene lived with her son, Dave Price and family.

Service in Confederate Army

Sam was a Private in Company G, Huie Guards, 44th Georgia Infantry, CSA. He was captured near Petersburg, VA, April 3, 1865 and released at Point Lookout, MD, June 17, 1865. He wrote letters to many of his northern relatives while in Maryland. After release, Sam stayed for a time in Maryland because he didn't have any money to pay a way home.
