The New Monthly Magazine and Universal Register was set up in 1814 as a Tory magazine and was published in London, with a national distribution. When Thomas Campbell became editor six years later, he changed the magazine's title to The New Monthly Magazine and Literary Journal, and significantly shifted its focus. Hazlitt contributed essays on major figures of the era, and Mary Shelley submitted book reviews. The New Monthly enjoyed a long, successful run, not halting production until 1884.

Not all volumes are available in full and some volumes are missing entirely which is a shame.

The "Provincial Occurrences" section has references to many other counties and is worth checking out if you have interests in counties other than Cornwall. There are also sections devoted to events in Scotland and Ireland. The magazines may be found in Google books, online.

I have transcribed all the information that could be located under the title "Cornwall".
