Descendant Database:

The Webb Chapel Cemetery Association has developed an electronic database of descendants of people buried at Webb Chapel Cemetery. This website will be used to help communicate this information and ask for assistance in this effort.

The article titled The Challenge is a statement of our purpose and vision for the genealogical database.

Death Certificates & Obituaries

In 2008 The Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS) added the Texas Death Certificates to their online Historical Record Collections. These are available from the early 1900s through 1977. We have downloaded over 200 death certificates relating to the Webb Chapel families since then. These are gradually being transcribed and the data added to our descendant database. They can be extremely helpful in analyzing and determining the structure of a family.

In the years since we started the database, we have been collecting obituaries, and other articles such as marriages, anniversaries, births, reunions, general news, etc. We have collected hundreds of articles from sources such as the Carrollton Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald, Fort Worth Star Telegram, and San Angelo Standard-Times. In early 2009 we discovered an online collection containing the Abilene Reporter-News from 1937-1977. Almost 300 additional articles have been downloaded from this source. In 2012 we gained access to a database that contains articles from many current newspapers and some historical newspapers such as the Richardson Echo (1920-1966). We also currently have access to Ancestry.com which has a database of historical newspapers with very little overlap with our other sources. We are constantly transcribing and adding these to our descendant database. These articles are available in our offline database. Family members may contact us to obtain a copy of this extensive information on their family.

The Carrollton & Farmers Branch TXGenWeb site has over sixty obituaries posted for people who are buried in Webb Chapel Cemetery. Be sure to come back here when you are finished there.

Here is the beginning of a list of obituaries for persons buried at Webb Chapel Cemetery. These obituaries are not currently posted on the Carrollton & Farmers Branch TXGenWeb site mentioned above. More obituaries will be posted here in the future so check back later or contact us directly if you don't see the one you want.
