What's in the pipeline?
There are projects under way in the following areas, at different stages of completion. Some of these are hugely time-consuming, and will take many months, particularly the databases. As the researcher also has to work for a living, please be patient! When a project is nearing completion, an estimated date for uploading to the web will be shown on this page.
INDIVIDUAL PROFILES
Some of the higher profile Wedderburns are given below. This is not a definitive list, and others will be added, such as Lt. Charles Foster Wedderburn, U.S.N., who following his ship's collision with a British merchantman off the coast of France in 1917 during WWI, drowned after saving the lives of many of his shipmates. The USS Wedderburn was named in his honour, seeing action in WWII as well as the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Jemima Wedderburn, a Victorian artist, 1823-1909 (Her father was Solicitor-General for Scotland at the time of Robert Wedderburn's trial - before she was born of course. Her father-in-law, John Blackburn, was a sugar planter in Jamaica.

Robert Wedderburn, b. 1762. The section devoted to Robert Wedderburn, grandson of Sir John Wedderburn, son of James of Inveresk and his slave housekeeper Rosanna, abolitionist, author of revolutionary tracts, radical preacher, is currently being revised and is to be considerably extended.

NEW DATABASES
The pure genealogical data yet to be added to searchable databases on the site will multiply the information currently available manyfold. Some will take the form of family-based databases, others will consist of region-based IGI information for individuals and smaller branches of the family that we have been unable as yet to connect to the principal family lines. This is a huge task, as in many cases there are extensive notes to be transcribed and linked to the individuals concerned.
