James Wells of Lt.Cr.Hd.,eldest son of John Wells,of Kent Co.,Del.(yeoman) late of same place,dec'd,to William Hoey,of same place,weaver. John Wells,by his will executed in the Register's Office for Co.afsd., bequeathed all his lands in his right to his two sons, James Wells,partie to these presents, and John his other son,which yet remains undiveded between the two sons. This tract called "Chippanorton," bought by John Wells in his lifetime from Thomas Nixon & Mary,wife,administratrix of Estate of Benjamin Brady,dec'd. John Wells sold part in this lifetime to Humphrey Barret. Dated Mar 1,1748. Signed James(x) Wells & Dorthy (x) Wells. Witnessed by Daniel Morgan and Hugh Durborrow.(source: Kent Co.
