On 21 April 1685 Mary Wells, widow and Richard Mitchell of Talbot Co. MD. adm. of James Wells sold, in Kent Co., Pa. HOWELLS LOT [DeedsKT B1:65] near Dundee "laid out for James Wells."[DeedsKT B1:21]

. After James Wells died his two sons, John and James,and daughter Catherine being his heirs (in addition to his wife) by their "jeyat" (sic"joint) deed dated 21 8ber(Aug ?) 1701 granting the two pieces of land to Griffis Jones of Philadelphia. (Pa.Arc 2d Ser.,Vol,19 p. 494)
On Oct 1 1701, John and Thomas Wells and Catherine Wells, "spinster," of Kent Co., Province of Pennsylvania as children of the late James Wells, made a Quit Claim Deed to Griffith Jones for three tracts "Betty's Fortune","Shrewsberrry" and "Simpson's Choyce" Mary Wells and Richard Mitchell as adm. had sold these tracts to Griffith Jones to pay debts on the estate.
