Birth and Baptism of son Joseph:

The 8th entry from the top of Page 78 in the "Baptisms, Burials 1796-1812" record book of the Penistone church, documents the baptism of Joseph Wainwright, son of John Wainwright and Ann, his wife, formerly Hobson, on June 5, 1802. The birth date is documented as June 4, 1802.

Burial of John Wainwright:

The record book of the Penistone church, documents the burial of John Wainwright on March 3, 1838 at age 70.

It appears that this is the same John referred to in the above birth and baptism records because the birth date agrees with the age at death as does that of the Joseph Wainwright who is also buried in this grave and believed to be his son.
No other documentation for a John Wainwright in the right time period has been found yet in the Penistone records.
