The record book of the Penistone church, documents the baptism of Joseph, son of John Beever, at Penistone on February 7, 1789.

Baptism of Elizabeth:
(Three Candidates)
Candidate 1:

The 3rd entry on Page 304 of the "Baptisms, Marriages and Burials 1733-1795" record book of the Penistone church, documents the baptism of Elizabeth, daughter of Issac Marsh of Cubley. at Penistone on May 10,1795.

Candidate 2:

The record book of the Penistone church, documents the baptism of Elizabeth, daughter of Ruben Marsh, at Penistone on February 10, 1784.

Candidate 3:

The IGI records the baptism of Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin Marsh at Penistone on February 2, 1783. If this is the Elizabeth who married Joseph Beever, she would have been about 6 years older than Joseph. A copy of the Penistone register is not yet available.

Marriage:

The IGI records the marriage of Joseph Beever and Elizabeth Marsh at Penistone on February 12, 1813. We have no documentation that this is the same Joseph Beever who would have been 24 years old at the time, but the marriage was in the same church that Joseph was baptized in. A copy of the Penistone register is not yet available.

Children:

No record has yet been found, in the IGI or the Penistone register, for the baptism of children of Joseph Beever and Elizabeth Marsh.
