Driver - Adjust Settings

This is the Driver Settings screen.
Scroll down, and we'll describe its various parts.

Driver Settings - Control Method
DCC, the DC Controller works the same way that a DC Controller on a model layout works. If you select this, the following controls show in the upper right corner of the Driver's screen.
DC Controller
Just click on the right edge of the knob and the locomotive will go forward.
Click on the left side and it will go backward.
The further you drag the knob, the faster the locomotive will go.
Drag it to the center position, and it will slow down and stop.
Click Stop, and it will stop.
Click * and you will turn the headlight on or off.
Click Pan and, if you have an electric locomotive, the will raise or lower.
Click Horn and the horn will blow.


CABIN will let you use the controls in the driver's cabin, to run the train.

Driver Settings - Control Method
This control has three settings:
None: Dragging the red button to the left will prevent derailment, except over an incorrectly-set junction, or when run off the end of a track,
Arcade: makes the derailment possibilities more realistic, but still with some tolerance.
Realistic: Collisions, or excess speed around curves and over junctions will cause a derailment.
The level selected, will is displayed at the right.

Driver Settings - Auto Pilot
Auto pilot has two choices:
None: All trains remain under your control, even when not visible.
Semi: Only the train you have selected to view is under your control. All other trains are on Auto Pilot and obey speed-limit boards and signals.
The mode selected, is highlighted.

Driver Settings - Weather
Dragging the button to the right, over the left half of the bar, will change the summer weather between
Clear, Cloudy, Drizzle, Rain, and Stormy.
The right half of the bar will change the winter weather between
Light Snow, Medium Snow, and Heavy Snow.
The weather selected, is shown at the right.

Driver Settings - Changeability
Dragging the button to the right will increase the changeability of the weather.
None will leave the type of weather selected above, unchanged throughout the game.
Periodic will change the weather over a half hour of game time.
Extreme will permit the weather to change over five minutes of game time.
The change-rate selected, is displayed at the right.

Driver Settings - StartingTime
Dragging the button left or right will change the starting time of the game's clock,
The time selected, (based on a 24-hour clock) is displayed at the right.

Driver Settings - TimeRate
Dragging the button to the right will speed up the game's clock, (so that night and day change faster).
1X is real-time, where one actual minute equals one game minute.
360X is where one real minute equals 360 game minutes, (6 game hours).
The rate selected is shown at the right.

Driver Settings - On-screen Help
When ON is selected, junction names and control-arrows will be visible, as shown here.

Driver - Junction Names and Controllers
The green arrow points in the direction that the train will go.
Clicking on either of the arrows, will change the direction.

When you are finished with settings, click the " " button, at the bottom of the screen.
