In 1873 she married Conrad Geise at St. James, Minnesota. Ten children were born: William, Henry, both are deceased, Ed, Mike of Sask., Canada, Mrs Frank Derby, Charles, Mrs. Sam (Lottie) Kunz, Mrs. John Schutz, Mrs. William Atkinson and Mrs. Albin Cederberg. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was buried in the Pine Island Cemetery.

Mrs. Klossner, 94, of Pine Island, a retired Rochester Methodist Hospital employee, died this morning (May 27, 1998) at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island where she had resided eight years. Ruth V. Geise was born Sept 22, 1903, in Dodge County, and attended Dodge County schools. In March 1922, she married John Klossner. They farmed in Dodge County before moving to Hammond, where they owned and operated a bar and restaurant. They later moved to Rochester and then to Pine Island. After her husband's death in 1957, Mrs. Klossner began employment at Rochester Methodist Hospital and continuted to work there until her retirement. Survivors include a daughter, Helene (Mrs. Harold) Borgschatz of Pine Island; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ethel Stucky, Indacq Bradford and Florence Stucky; Three brothers preceded her in death. She moved to Minneapolis and worked there in the 1940's and 1950's. she returned to Pine Island to help care for family members. She was a boarding house manager in Rochester for many years. She enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards, crocheting and dancing. Survivors include her sister, Inda Bradford of Mantorville. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Memborials are preferred to the Charles Cowden American legion Post in Pine Island or the donor's choice.

He married Anne Zawada Sept 24, 1966, in Berne and they lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for a year before moving to Rochester where they operated a rooming house and he worked for Holm and Olson Greenhouse. She died Nov 12, 1980. He and Eva Kiecker were married in 1982 and they lived in Rochester. After her death in 1989 he moved to Pine Island. Mr. Geise was active in the Pine Island Senior Citizens, a volunteer at Pine Haven Care Center and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pine Island. Born March 4, 1909, in West Concord, he grew up in Dodge County. On Nov. 16, 1930, he married Inda Geise in Rochester and they lived in Dodge County all their married lives. Mr. Bradford had been a heavy equipment operator for Stussy Construction Co. and Tripp Construction, and then for Mantorville Township until his retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Pine Island United Methodist Church, was a past president of the ladies aid, and was member of the Rebekah Lodge. Stucky, 82, Pine Island, a lifelong area resident and former farmer, died Tuesday morning (Dec 12, 1995) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born Nov 5, 1913, in New Haven township, Olmsted county, and married Florence Geise on Feb 24, 1934 in Pine Island. They farmed in New Haven for 54 years before moving to Pine Island in 1988. Mr. Stucky was a longtime seed salesman for Northrup King, was employed at the Pine Island Elevator for several years and worked for Mahler Funeral Home from 1971 to 1989. He served as a treasurer of New Haven Township for 47 years, was director of the Minnesota Cheese Producers Board and a longtime director of the Dodge County Fair Board. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 54 year member of the Pine Island Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Delma (Mrs Donovan) Clarey of Rochester and Mary (Mrs. Gary) Hunt of Plymouth, Minn.; a son, Neal of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. Obit - Pine Island Record - 17 Nov 1946 - John Schutz meets Accidental Death - John Schutz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schutz, Sr. met with accidental death, when struck by a Chicago and Northwestern freight car at Winona, November 7, 1946. John was born June 30, 1877 in Erlenbach, Switzerland. He came to America in April 1883, with his parents and three brothers. Upon arrival in this country, the family came directly to Pine Island where they located on a farm four miles southwest of this village. He was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Church at Berne. On February 7, 1900, he married Josephine Geise. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Carl Black and Victor of Pine Island, Mrs. Stanley Gay and Mrs. Norman Flynn of Wenatchee, Washington, Raymond of Flint, Michigan and Adolph who preceded his father in death. He spent most of his life in this community until some years ago when he was engaged in various pursuits around Lewiston and Winona. Surviving him besides his immediate family are four brothers, Werner of Cour d'Alene, Idaho, Charles of Rochester, Fred of Kasson, Harold and Walter of Pine Island, and one sister, Mrs. Lisle Stucky, of Pine Island, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Carl Block home. Burial was in the Pine Island cemetery with mortician A.A. Mahler in charge. The Rev. Eleverado Cox of the Methodist church officiated. Pallbearers were Fred Closner, George Haumgartner, William Murray, Peter Stucky, Lloyd Stucky and Henry Peterson. Rochester Post-Bulletin - 8 Nov 2000 - Ruth E. Derby of Rochester - Rochester - The funeral for Ruth E. Derby will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Vine Funeral Home in Rochester, with the Rev. David Droog of Peace United Church of Christ Officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville. Mrs. Derby, 98, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Rochester, died Friday (Nov. 3, 2000) in Port Orange. Ruth E. White was born April 2, 1902, in Mantorville and grew up in Dodge County. On Feb. 24, 1921, she married Ralph Derby in Kasson. They farmed in the Pine Island area until 1940. Then they moved to Mantorville, where they operated the Derby Inn Restaurant. In 1944, they moved to Rochester and owned and operated the Pla-Mor Ballroom until 1955, when they sold it and moved to Ormand Beach, Fla. Mr. Derby died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Dale of Port Orange; a daughter, Doris Reuter of Rochester; and special friend Michael "Mick" Mitchell of Chicago. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Friends may call an hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home. memorials may be made to a charily of the donor's choice.
