Sampson¹ Shore (1614-1678) was born in Devonshire, England. He married 1st Eunice Peowte/Proute in 1638 in England and they had one daughter Eunice. He came to Boston ca. 1641 and later moved to Plymouth, Massachusetts. His second wife was Abigail Purchase born 4 July 1624 Dorchester, Dorsetshire, England and they had eleven children. Abigial Purchase was dau of Aquilla Purchase and Ann Squires. They later moved to Lynn and then to Rehoboth, Massachusetts. 6. Jonathan Shorey (Sampson¹) born 29 Feb 1649 Boston, Suffolk, MA married 15 Jan 1668 Priscilla Hathorne bpt 22 July 1649 Salem, Essex, MA dau of John and Sarah (Breed) Ha(w)thorne. Priscilla's father John Ha(w)thorne (William, William, Thomas, Thomas) of Binfield, co. Berks, England and Salem, Malden, and Lynn, MA. He was bpt 20 Apr 1621 at Binfield and probably accompaied his elder brother William to New England, where he was admitted to the church at Salem in 1637. About 1648 he became a tavernkeeper at Malden, later he had moved about 1650 to Lynn, where he died 12 Dec 1676. He married Sarah who survived him. His will, dated 19 Oct 1676 was proved 27 June 1677 and inventory taken 21 Feb 1677. He and his wife Sarah had nine (9) children. Children of Jonathan and Priscilla:

He married, 29 April 1702 Mary Rhodes born 22 Sept 1682 York county ME died 1 Apr 1738 Kittery, York, ME dau of Thomas Rhodes and Mary Thompson dau of Miles Thompson and lived in the northern part of Eliot.
