Batchelder, Batcheller Genealogy
John Wing was the original progenitor of nearly all who bear the
name in America, so far as they are known to us. Nothing is known of him before
his arrival at Boston and his residence at Saugus (Lynn), except that he had
married Deborah, the second daughter of Stephen Batchelder, and was one of that
minister's company. Some have inferred that he had been with his father-in-law
during his sojourn in Holland, and that he had some near connection with the
Rev. John Wing, the pastor of an Euglish congregation in Flushing, in the
Province of Zealand, in Holland.
Wing Family Society
The Rev. Stephen Bachiler - had decided to bring his entire
family to the New World with the "Plough Emigration Co." some family
members arrived upon the "William and Mary" in July of 1631

A historical sketch of the town of Hanover, Mass: by John
Stetson Barry 1853
History of Hanover
In the Westerly part of the town, on Torrey's Lane, now Winter
Street, the Tilden house, a portion of which is still standing, was erected
over 130 years ago, and was occupied by a brother of Lt. Job, when the town was
incorporated. On the same lane dwelt the Torreys, David and Stephen, and James
and Nathaniel lived more towards the centre of the town. Farther on, and on the
same street, the Wings, Bachelor, Sylvanus, and Ebenezer, were settled. In the male
line, all these names are extinct here. A few of the female descendants still
survive, among who we may name the wife of Thomas M. Bates, who was a Wing.
