I Winslow Swackhammer, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and being also desirous of making such disposition of my property as shall be just and equitable do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First, I will and direct that all the just debts I may be owing at the time of my decease including the expenses of my last sickness and funeral shall be paid in preference to any devise or bequest herein contained. Second, I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Eliza A. Fay Swackhammer the control occupancy, occupation rents issues profits and proceeds of all my property Real Personal & of every name kind and description and wheresoever situated, during the term of her natural life. And I hereby authorise my said wife as executrixof this my last will and testament to sell or exchange any of my personal property, and with the proceeds, of such as may be sold to purchase other property orinvest the same on interest as she shalll deem most advisable for the benefit of my estate. I also authorise and empower my said wife as executrix as aforesaid in case she shall deem it advisable for the benefit of my estate to sell and convey all or any part of my real estate and convert the same into money & invest the same securely using the interest thereon for her own purposes or benefit in lien of using the property itsself. She had reached the ripe old age of 85 years, 4 months and 11 days. Her maiden name was Jane Swackhamer, being a daughter of the late Samuel and Hannah Swackhamer. She was born in the town of Turin, and was one of 13 children who, with the exception of one grew up to manhood and womanhood. Six now living, Mrs. John Davis, Mrs. Warren Johnson, of Glenfield; Mrs. William Maine, of Middleport, NY; Mrs. Newton Payne of Collinsville; Richard Swackhamer, of Michigan, and Ralph Swackhamer, of West Turin. At the age of 18 the deceased was united in marriage with Joseph Seckner, to whom seven children were born, all of whom have preceded her to the grave. Her husband, a godly man, died 17 years ago, leaving her without husband, child or grandchild. To some this would seem hard to bear, but she was ever cheerful and looked on the bright side, which enabled her to surmount the difficulties which came to her, in a cheerful spirit. She was a member of the Methodist church of Turin, and lived a consistent Christian life. The funeral services were held from her late home on Friday at one o'clock and from the Methodish church at Turnin at two o'clock p.m. Rev. B.F. Wood, of Watertown, officiating. The following persons acted as bearers: David Hughes, John Evans, Walter Millard, Plat Capron, William D. Lewis, Eli Sabins; interment in the family lot in the Turin Cemetery. Among the relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Byron Green, of Ilion; Linas Bailey and Wallace Radley, of Boonville; Edward Payne, of Copenhagen; Mr. and Mrs. William Hassis, Glenfield; Hanabal Johnson and two daughters, of Glenfield.

Nye: 1911 On Wednesday morning, April 19th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.F. Herrick, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Davis. The deceased has lived in the community for many years and her loss will be keenly felt by all those who knew her, for she had a beautiful Christian character which radiated cheer and comfort to all who came in contact with her. From early girlhood she has been a member of the M.E. Church and each day walked in the steps of her Creator and humbly took the sorrows and blessings that came to her. Mr. Davis died twenty-two years ago and since that time Mrs. Davis has been patiently waiting until God called her to be with her loved ones on the other shore. If she had lived until the 27th of the present month, she would have been 78 years old. She is survived by two sons, Frank R. Davis, of North Chili, and Adelbert Davis, of Beaver Falls, and one daughter, Mrs. W.F. Herrick, of this place; several grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Swackhammer of Michigan, and Ralph Swackhammer, of Turin; three sisters, Mrs. William Main, of Middleport; Mrs. Warren Johnson, of this place, and Mrs. Eliza Payne, of Collinsville. The funeral was held Friday afternoon from her late home. Rev. W.A. Gardner, of Martinsburg, officiating. Mr. Gardner spoke words of comfor from the text, "Prepare to Meet Thy God," found in the book of Amos, 4:12. He was assisted in prayer and in reading of the scripture by Rev. C.O. Thatcher, also of Martinsburg. Three favorite hymns were softenly rendered, "Asleep in Jesus." "When the Mists Have Rolled Away," and "Saved by Grace." The two sons, son-in-law and a nephew were bearers. Interment was mde in North Chili. The remains were accompained to her last resting place by Frank R. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Davis and daughter Belva.

Nye - 1912 At the home of Uranus Reibennatch, on Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, occurred the death of Mrs. Louisa Swackhamer, widow of the late Ralph Swackhamer, after an illness of nearly ten years. Mrs. Swackhamer was born in West Turin, January 11, 1840, and was the daughter of Jason and Melissa Sabin Payne. Her early life was spent with her parents. She was educated in the district school and Lowville Acaedmy. On December 19, 1861, she was united in marriage with Ralph Swackhamer by Rev. C.B. Pond, and went to housekeeping on her father's farm, where all her life, excepting a few months, were spent. Nearly forthy years ago she and her husband were converted and united with the M.E. Church in Turin, where they were very useful members. Mrs. Swackhamer was a helpful members of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society, and when able was always at the meeting of the society. About ten years ago she was stricken with rheumatism, and after a short time she became confined to her home. Her sufferings were at times very great, but she bore with a cheerfulness that was remarkable. After over fifty years of wedded life, her husband died March 27, 1912. After the death of her husband she went to live with a niece, Mrs. Uranus Riebennacht. The funeral was held in the M.E. Church, Turin, Friday, Oct. 25, Rev. C.M. Smith officiating; interment in Turin cemetery. She is survived by one brother, Edward Payne, of Copenhagen, and numberous other relatives.

Six weeks ago she suffered a severe shock of paralysis, from which she did not recover greatly. Mrs. Johnson's maiden name was Mary Swackhamer and she was born in the town of Turin, February 11, 1845, the daughter of Samuel and Helen Ames Swackhamer . About 45 years ago she was united in marriage to Warren Johnson, who passed away a few years ago. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Johnson went to housekeeping in Glenfield, where they had since resided. Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son, Frank Johnson, of Glenfield, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Main, of Lockport; also by several nieces and nephews.
