Bessie Isabelle Wood Wilmoth
"Bessie"
May 24, 1909 - February 7, 1978
Bessie was born in Surry County, N.C. She worked all of her life and raised
nine children. She lived the last years of her life in a wheelchair due to
crippling rhuematoid arthritis. She loved to embroider and was able to
make each one of her children a bedspread and pillowcases before she became
totally crippled. She was a member of Hanes Baptist Church. She is buried at
Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, N.C.
