William "Early" was born in Surry County, N.C. He was employed with

P.H. Hanes all his life while also farming and raising nine children. He

helped build some of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of N.C.

He loved to farm and raised the best gardens around. He dabbled in beekeeping

and producing sourwood honey. He developed Alzheimers

in his later years and passed away. He is buried at Forsyth Memorial Park

in Winston-Salem, N.C.

He is pictured above with his black lab "Midnight".
