JAS. O. CARR DEAD AT HUBBARD LAKE

James O. Carr, a respected resident of this county, died Friday at the home of his son Asa Carr, at Hubbard Lake, after a long illness with kidney trouble.

Mr. Carr was born in Ontario, May 25, 1845 and came to Alpena in 1863.

He has held several offices of responsibility and has always been regarded very highly in the community where he has lived. Besides his widow, Mr. Carr leaves a daughter, Mrs. Will Carpenter of Houghton, who will arrive tonight, and three sons, Oscar of Detroit, and Robert and Asa of Hubbard Lake. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon from the home of his son Asa. Interment being made at Evergreen cemetery, Alpena.

J. O. CARR, PIONEER RESIDENT, IS DEAD

James O. Carr, a pioneer resident of the county, died Friday afternoon at the home of his son Asa Carr of Hubbard Lake. He was one of the best known and highly respected residents.

Born in Ontario on May 25, 1842, Mr. Carr came to Alpena in the seventies and had lived here continuously since. He had served as township treasurer and justice of the peace.

The funeral was held from the home of Asa Carr on Monday and the body interred in Evergreen cemetery, Alpena.
