MARJORIE CARR

Marjorie Carr, 82, of 410 Lockwood, died Monday (Dec. 30) at home following an extended illness.

Marjorie Goodburne was born May 8, 1909, in Alpena and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 11, 1940, she married Elwood Carr in Detroit. He preceded her in death in November of 1988. Mrs. Carr was a graduate of Alpena High School, a poet and an avid gardener. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the St. Martha's Group.

Surviving are a son, Wayne, of Alpena; two daughters, Edith (Mrs. Albert E.) Cleland of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and Doris (Mrs. Dennis) Wood of California; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Faith, and three brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bannan Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Thursday funeral at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Thomas Downs will officiate.

Burial: Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorial: Trinity Episcopal Church.
