

Henry J Eggleston
Henry James Eggleston was born at Woodburd,
Washington Co., Vt. Aug 10 1844 and died at Tigerton Wis., June 26 1906.
Mr. Eggleston came to Appleton, Wis., with his parents in 1846. At the
time of the Civil War, he entered the United States service as a member
of Co D, 21st Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, he served out his
first enlistment and reenlisted and served to the close of the war.
In 1873 he was married to Chloe Scovel of
Pardeville, Wis., four children were born to them, two of whom are still
living. In 1883 he moved to Oshkosh and for the past four years resided
at Milton Jct., until three weeks ago when he came to Tigerton.
He was married in 1897 to Sylvia Staley who
survives to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband.
Mr. Eggleston was for many years in the employ of
the C & NW ry., and held his position up to about ten weeks ago when he
was obliged to give it up on account of poor health. He was loved and
respected by all who knew him and leaves a host of friends to mourn his
loss.
The remains were brought here Thursday and interred
in the Marion cemetery under the auspices of the G.A.R., Rev F/ Worth of
Milton Junction officiating.
