The Journal made an error last week in the name of Mr. Preuss, his given
name being Martin, instead of Christian. The old gentleman was in his
66th year. He was born in Germany and came to this country in 1858,
marrying Wilhelmine Retzlaff at Watertown in 1861. He served 13 months
in the army and for 6 years has been confined to his bed as a result of
disease contracted in the service. An aged wife and one son and 3
daughters survive him as follows; Christ Preuss, Mrs. F Steinke, Mrs.
Geo Hoffman and Miss Bertha Preuss. The latter is a student at the
Oshkosh Normal.
