John Wesley Held

 

John Wesley Held, 88, Born May 20, 1896 in West Bend, currently of Rt 1, Box 260A, Charlotte Court House, Virginia, died this morning, Jul 26, 1984.

He had been a teacher at Shawano High School from 1923-24.  He was a US Immigration Officer retiring in 1952, at which time he moved to Virginia, living near his son.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Alice, Mr Louis Dillenberg, Shawano, and Pat, Mr Martin Lorntson, Silver Bay, Minn; a son, John Jr, Charlotte Court House, Virginia; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be Sunday in Charlotte Court House.  There will be no visitation.

A memorial is being established to the American Cancer Society.
