Aug. Bengs of Milwaukee, a son of Aug. Bengs of this place, has got a Captain’s commission, and will go with the Milwaukee Soldiers to fight the Spanish.  Hurrah for Capt. Bengs of Co. B Rough Riders.

August Bengs Is Dead At Age of 82

 

Mr and Mrs Herman Bengs of this city were called to Milwaukee Sunday to attend the funeral of his brother, the late August Bengs who was buried on Mon.  August Bengs was at one time a resident of Marion back in 1882.  He later moved to Milwaukee where he joined the regular army and was a veteran of the Spanish American war and world war one.  He passed away at a hospital at Wood.  After his service with the regular army he was for many years connected with the health department in the city of Milwaukee.  Funeral services were in charge of the Masonic order and the American Legion.
