Edward Lenges Dies
Early Today; Rites Wednesday
Edward M Lenges, 84,
former superintendent of the Shawano Paper Mill, died very
suddenly early today at his home in Shawano.
Lenges, who has
resided in Shawano all but one year following his marriage to
the former Elsie Wruck in 1904, was employed at the Paper Mill
for 36 years. 21 of which he served as superintendent.
Funeral services will
be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran
Church with Rev. H. G. Parsch officiating. Members of the
Shawano veterans organizations will serve as pallbearers and
also will conduct military rites at the grave in Woodlawn
cemetery. Mr. Lenges was a veteran of the Spanish American
War.
Lenges was born Jun 4
1876 at Milwaukee the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Lenges. He
resided in Milwaukee until his marriage, lived in Appleton for
one year, and then moved to Shawano. He was a member of St.
James Lutheran Church and belonged to the Men's Club since
1933.
Survivors include his
wife and two daughters, Elsie, Mrs. Harry Wanner, Menominee
Falls and Mary, Mrs. Melvin Mayer, Beloit. Two grandsons also
survive. Two sons, Alfred 14 and an infant preceded their
father in death.
Friends may call after
1 p.m. Tuesday at the Karth Funeral Home in Shawano and the
the church from noon until time of the services on Wednesday.
