Wife of Francois de la Queueille is given as Anne de Rohan rather than Anne d'Espinay (Esme Stuart 1st Duke of Lennox) see CP I p329 footnote (a)

I have the same as what Simon says. Gerald Paget, in his books on the ancestors and relatives of Prince Charles, gives that the parents of Anne are Francois Seigneur de la Queuille and his 2nd wife Anne, daughter of Jacques d'Espinay.

BUT Burke's Peerage 1967 page 1760 Anne is daughter of Francois de la Queuille by his second wife Anne de Rohan.

BUT ES Volume X in which the de Rohan family is recorded, in the index is only one entry for de la Queuille --- if refers to a Jean who married Claude de La Tour and so I agree that DNB is wrong.

Cahiers de Saint Louis give

page 767 Anne d'Espinay = Francois sgr de la Qeueille
fils de Charles et d'Anne de Bellenave
(I have seen others giving her as Anne de Ventadour)

page 765 Anne is daughter of
Jacques d'Espinay sgr d'Usse d 1520
and Jeanne de Couraudin, Dame de Moncontour

pages 763/4 Jacques is son of
Beatrice de Montauban married 13.09.1435
Richard sgr d'Espinay son of Robert II et de Marguerite de la Courbe

page 763 Beatrice is daughter of Bonne Visconti
this now hits a well known line
