M and R 121-'57. Ordered that, under the authority of the Crown Lands Act, the administration, management and control of five pieces of Crown land situate at Elliston in the District of Trinity North and comprising 87.83 acres as described in the Schedule hereto, be transferred to Her Majesty the Queen in the right of Canada for use by the Department of National Defence subject to the following conditions:
-
All minerals, quarry materials, coal, natural gas, oil and salt
on in and under the said lands to be reserved to Her Majesty in the
right of Newfoundland;
- The said lands to be used at all times by the Department of
National Defence in connection with the mid-Canada lines; and
if, and as soon as, the said lands
are no longer used for the purpose mentioned in (b) above, the
administration, control and management thereof shall thereupon
be assumed by Her Majesty in the right of Newfoundland.

All that piece or parcel of land situate and being near Elliston in
the District of Trinity North abutted and bounded as follows:
beginning at a point in the westerly limit of the highway (sixty-six
feet wide) extending from Elliston to Elliston Railway Station, the
said point being two hundred and sixty-five feet as measured along
the said westerly limit of the highway in a southerly direction from
the point of intersection of the said westerly limit and the centre
line of the access road leading in general northwesterly direction
through the land herein described to an area occupied by the
Department of National Defence and called Area B, Main Site; thence
running in a northeasterly direction along the said westerly limit
of the highway six hundred and ninety feet; thence turning and
running by Crown Land north thirty-seven degrees five minutes west
one thousand four hundred and thirty-nine feet; thence south
forty-two degrees forty minutes west one thousand six hundred feet;
thence south seventy degrees twenty-five minutes east one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine feet more or less to the point of
beginning and containing an area of forty acres and seventy-two
hundredths of an acre more or less, all bearings being referred to
the true meridian.

Also all that other piece or parcel of land known as Area B, Main
Site, adjoining the area hereinbefore described and abutted and
bounded as follows: beginning at the most westerly angle of the area
hereinbefore described; thence running by Crown Land north
forty-seven degrees twenty minutes west one thousand two hundred
feet; thence north forty-two degrees forty minutes east one thousand
six hundred feet; thence south forty-seven degrees twenty minutes
east one thousand two hundred feet more or less to the northernmost
angle of the land hereinbefore described; thence by the said land
hereinbefore described south forty-two degrees forty minutes west
one thousand six hundred feet more or less to the point of beginning
and containing an area of forty-four acres and eight hundredths of
an acre more or less; all bearings being referred to the true
meridian.

Also all that other piece or parcel of land adjoining the
north-eastern boundary of Area B, Main Site hereinbefore described
and abutted and bounded as follows: beginning at a point in the said
northeastern boundary of Area B, Main Site distant four hundred and
five feet and seven-tenths of a foot on a bearing of north
forty-seven degrees twenty minutes west from the easternmost angle
of the said Area B, Main Site; thence running by Crown Lands north
thirty degrees twenty minutes east three hundred and nine feet and
five-tenths of a foot; thence north fifty-nine degrees forty minutes
west forty feet; thence south thirty degrees twenty minutes west
three hundred feet and eight-tenths of a foot more or less to the
aforesaid northeastern boundary of Area B, Main Site hereinbefore
mentioned; thence along the said northeastern boundary south
forty-seven degrees twenty minutes east forty feet and nine-tenths
of a foot more or less to the point of beginning and containing an
area of twenty-eight hundredths of an acre more or less; all
bearings being referred to the true meridan.

Also all that other piece or parcel of land abutted and bounded as
follows: beginning at a point distance one thousand three hundred
and fifty-five feet on a bearing of north thirty-seven degrees east
from the northernmost angle of Area B, Main Site hereinbefore
described; thence running by land occupied by Caleb Hobbs north
twenty-seven degrees six minutes west three hundred and fifteen
feet; thence by land occupied by the said Caleb Hobbs and by the
southerly limit of a road north sixty-two degrees fifty-four minutes
east three hundred and fifty feet; thence by lands occupied by the
said Caleb Hobbs south twenty-seven degrees six minutes east three
hundred and fifteen feet; thence south sixty-two degrees fifty-four
minutes west three hundred and fifty feet more or less to the point
of beginning and containing an area of two acres and fifty-three
hundredths of an acre more or less; all bearings being referred to
the true meridian.

All that piece or parcel of land situate and being at Elliston in
the District of Trinity South abutted and bounded as follows:
beginning at a point in the easterly limit of the main road through
Elliston and marked by an iron pin set in the ground in the boundary
of land occupied by Wilson Trask; thence running by the said land
occupied by Wilson Trask and by land occupied by Amaziah Oldford and
by land occupied by Mrs. Charles Trask north thirty-one degrees
fourteen minutes east two hundred and thirty-one feet; thence north
fifty-eight degrees fifty-six minutes west forty feet; thence by
lands occupied by the aforesaid Mrs. Charles Trask, Amaziah Oldford
and Wilson Trask south thirty-one degrees fourteen minutes west two
hundred and forty-eight feet and five-tenths of a foot more or less
to the aforesaid easterly limit of the main road through Elliston;
thence along the said easterly limit in an easterly direction
forty-three feet and five-tenths of a foot more or less to the point
of beginning and containing an area of twenty-two hundredths of an
acre more or less; all bearings being referred to the true meridian.
