We
are researching the Travis
family from Westchester County, New York. Garrett
Travis first appears in New York in the mid 1600's, but
not much is known about where he was before that. He was married
to Katherine sometime before 1660 and they had two daughters:
Hannah, Mabel and four sons: John, Phillip, Robert,
and James.
In
addition, we are researching the Galpin,
Ogden,
Dusenbury, Thorne,
Fowler families
of New York. Later during the Revolutionary War, Loyalist Elizabeth
(Fowler) Travis moved to Cumberland County, Nova Scotia
with her remaining family. Her husband William was killed during
the fighting and his brother Daniel claimed the family land in
New York. In Nova Scotia we are researching the names: Newcomb,
Church,
and Hoeg.

well we are researching the Scragg,
