Longdon Volume 2 Longdon, Worcestershire
Volume 2 1601-1656

The second volume of the Longdon Registers is in a fragile state. The entries run from 1601 to 1644 and from 1653 to 1656 although there are several pages missing at the beginning of the volume and the last pages are in badly damaged. The entries are arranged chronologically within each year with the year commencing on Lady Day, March 25.
From the writing styles and general appearance of this volume it is clear that this Register is the original from which the entries appearing in both the first and third volumes of the register were copied. Due to its dilapidated state I have chosen not to transcribe it but only to compare it to the copies in the other volumes.
Apart from spelling variations the vast majority of entries are identical to the copies. Where additional information or additional entries appear I have interlineated these in the appropriate position in Volume 1 or Volume 3 and underlined them to show their origin.
