John Hatton of Forthampton yeoman

 

In the name of god amen the first day of January one Thousand six hundred sixtie & one I John Hattne the elder of Forthampton in the Countie of Glocester yeoman callinge to minde the uncertainty of mans estate & time of death die make & ordaine this my last Will & Testament in writinge as followeth first I comend my soule to Allmightie god hopinge to be saved only by the most pretious blood shedinge & merritts of Jesus Christ my lord & saviour & my bodie to be buried in the earth from whence it came & as touchinge those worldly goods cattels & chattels whereof it hath pleased god hitherto to give me the use of I giveth & bequeath as followeth first I give& bequeath unto my Eldest sonne Richard as a token of my love to him one shilinge to be paide at the  end of two yeares after my deccees & for all the rest of my goods cattels & chattels after my debts are discharged my will is that all which remaineth should be devided amongst me seaven other children as Thomas Philip Anne John Mary Elisabeth William those goods cattels & chattels to be devided into Eleaven parts within two yeares after my decces my fower younger children to be maintained untill it be devoided my will is that my three elder Children as Thomas Philip & Ann shall have three of those Eleaven parts & my fower youngest children shall have the other eight parts equalie devided all to be paide within two yeares after my deceas Item I doe make my sonne John sole Executor of this my last will containinge & lastly I constitute & ordain & appointe James Gilberd of Longdon in the Countie of Worcester & William Buckle of Chasley in the Countie of Worcester my loving friends to be oeverseers of this my last will & testament & I doe request them as fare as in them lyeth to see this my last will performed & to Asist aide & counsell my sonn John my executor in the best sorte they can for ther performing of my will & for a small token & Remembrance of my love & good will for their paynes & travaill for the same I doe five & bequeath unto the said James Gilberd & William Buckle  the sume if five shilings a peace Ite: I give to my sonne Willm my wearing apparrell
