John Hatton of Forthampton, yeoman 

In the name of God Amen I John Hatton Senior of Forthampton in the County of Gloucester yeoman being sicke and weake in body, but of sound perfect mind and memory Thanks bee given to Almighty God, Imprimis I comend my soule into the hands of Almighty God its Donor and Creator and my Body to the earth to be Decently Buryed at the discrestion of my Executrix hereafter named And as for Touching and Concerning all my Worldly Estate and Goods which God hath Lent mee I give devise bequeath & dispose of as followeth, Imprimis I give devise and bequeath all the Reversion of my Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever after the Decease of my Deare and Loving Wife then to my Sonn John Hatton and his heires for ever and for want of such issue then to my Sonn William Hatton and to his heires for ever and for want of such issue of William then to the Right heires of my Sonn Samuell for ever, Item I give and bequeath the full whole and entire Summe of Forty Pounds of Good & Lawfull money of England to my Said Sonn William Hatton And alsoe I give & bequeath the further Summe of Forty Pounds more to my Said Sonn Samuell and likewise the same summe of Forty Pounds more to my Daughter Ann Hatton The aforesaid Summes of Forty Pounds a peece to my Said Three Children William Samuell And Ann To bee paid by my Said Sonn John Hatton his heires Executors or Administrators within the space of Three yeares after my wifes decease, And for non payment thereof I doe hereby Impowere my brother Samuell Hatton of Ledbury in the County of Hereford Chandler and my brother Phillip of the Said Townshipp and County aforesaid Chandler To make Sale of Fower acres of my Meadow lying in Forthampton Meadow in the Said County of Gloucester and on other pasture ground called Newbridge in the Said Parish of Forthampton & County of Gloucester And on other Peece of Pasture called or knowne by the name or names of Lampornhill Leazon And alsoe one other Peece or parcell of Erable land called by the name or names of the four Quarters lying all in Forthampton in the Said County of Gloucester And that my Said Brothers Samuell & Phillip Shall have full Power & Lawfull authority to Sell Convey and assure the aforesaid lands Meadow & pasture bee it by Fyne Fefment or otherwise for the Raising of th’aforesaid Legacyes and what remaines over & above the Said Legacyes to retorne to my Sonn John Item I give & bequeath to my Said Sonn John Hatton one Table Board in the Hall with Two Joyne formes and one Joyne Bedstead with a Side Cubbord over the Hall & on Silver Spoone And I doe hereby Constitiute ordeyne and appoint Canaan Hatton my Loving wife whole & Sole Executrix of this my last will & Testament And I doe hereby revoke disanull & make void all former wills heretofore by mee made I yeat further make it as part of my will that after my Debts & funerall Expenses are discharged the Remainder of the Assets to my Loving wife for her life & after her decease to bee Equally divided betweene my Said Childeren William Samuell & Ann: In witnes whereof I have hereunto put my hand & Seale this eighth day of September in the Sixth yeare of King William & Queene Mary over England Anno Domini 1694:
