!WHERE DID JONAS SOLOMON COME FROM??? There are a number of theories expressed by descendants: 1. They came from Holland? 2. Jonas possibly one of three brothers that came to America at about the same time? Jonas to New Jersey, one brother to Ohio, and another to North Carolina? Was he related to Shepard Solomon, who lived in New Jersey, and also signed a deed in Pitt Co., North Carolina in 1762? [Inventory of Jonas Solomon Jr.'s estate lists 'apparel, horse and gig, trunk etc., "laying in New Bern, North Carolina."] 3. They came from Russia, possibly of Jewish origin?
