These pages are dedicated to the memory of my friend Sandy who lost her battle with breast cancer March 2003.
We love you and we miss you.
                         Rest in peace my friend.
Please help support the fight against breast cancer,
it affects us all, one way or another.

Personally I think that in order to love genealogy, you have to be a little superstious. If someone were to ask me, I would say "Sure, I believe in ghosts!" and "Sure, I believe in the sixth sense!" and "Sure, I believe our ancesters can pass down memories!". It might sound a little crazy to some people, but I think if we were honest, we'd all have to agree, even if just a little. After all,  how many time have you been at that point of giving up and on a whim, opened one more book, or searched one more index or even tho you just KNEW that g,g,g grandpa didn't live there, you searched an index and found him? Luck? Maybe. Educated guess, if it were educated you wouldn't have looked, after all, he wasn't supposed to be there, now was he :)?
There is a well used, well known phrase - a picture can speak a thousand words. Ain't it the truth! Have you ever looked at a picture and felt an
instant kinship? Had a flash of an emotion that wasn't your own? As a genealogist/historian I can look at a picture of a person and envision a house, a family, a whole life - lived out in that one instant. I can see children and parents, brothers and sisters, hardships and joys. I've always loved photography. In my opinion it's the most honest form of art there is. Paintings are beautiful works of art, but no matter how talented the artist, there is no way you can duplicate the life story that you see buried in someones eyes, or the lines of history that glow in an old house.

That's why I decided to make this website. I have old photos passed down to me from my parents, photos of family members and places long since gone. People have sent me photos of family members, some connected in some way to me and mine, some not. I've been collecting them for the last couple of years, not quite sure how to display them. Now I know.
I have this belief that as long as someone remembers a person from the past, even for a second, then that person is still with us, still alive in a small way. That's why I love pictures so much, that's why I love genealogy.
This site is more or less set up in the same format as the Postcard Genealogy site. Each link goes to a page and each page has a picture or in some cases, a couple of pictures of a particular person or place. As with the Postcard Genealogy website, if there are connected pages elsewhere I will try and link them.

I have a small mailing list so that I can contact people when I update this website, if you'd like to be added please email me at [email protected]
