Notes: David M. Yarbrough (1832 AR - 1868/70 TX), son of John Swanson & Cynthia Yarbrough.  David and his brother, Alfred, are on the 1850 Medina Co. TX  census serving as TX Volunteers.  On Nov. 12, 1859 he enlisted under Capt. Peter Tumlinson in the Texas Ranger service and was discarged on February 10, 1860 after serving 2 months and 29 days.  On Nov. 11, 1860 he married 1st Rebecca Jones (1837 MO - 1862 TX), daughter of Kiziah Carroll Harp & Andrew Jones, in Atascosa County.  He served in the Confederate army in Co K of the 2nd Texas Calvary.  David was listed on the Atascosa county Texas Voters list in July 1857 as a native of Arkansas.  David died between 1868 and 1870 and nothing further is known about him.

Mary Ann Anderson was born circa 1847 in Kentucky.  Before her marriage to David nothing is known.

In 1870 Mary is on the Atascosa census as head of household with 2 children.
It is presumed that David has died prior to June 13, 1870 the date this census was enumerated.  David and Mary had one child, David M. Yarbrough, that was born on March 23, 1869

Mary next appears on the 1880 Kinney Co., TX census as a wife of J. R. Davidson.  From this census we see that Mary had previously been married to a Mr. Burke circa 1870/71 and they had two daughters, Mildred & Mary Burke.  In this census it appears that Mary and J. R. Davidson married circa 1879, as all the Davidson children appear to be Mr. Davidson's children from a prior marriage.
