There was a John Dixon working as a Bullock driver in the 1840's for George Cox's family in Mudgee. 1
John had a relationship with Hannah Stanley in 1810. (Hannah Stanley was born on 13 Jun 1788 in Deptford, Kent, England, United Kingdom 2 3 4, christened on 2 May 1814 in Windsor, Cumberland County, New South Wales,5 died on 26 Dec 1854 in Sutton Forest, Camden County, New South Wales 6 7 and was buried on 28 Dec 1854 in Sutton Forest, Camden County, New South Wales 5.)
Hannah formed a liason with a marine officer named John Dixon and arrived 6 months pregnant. His name was registered on the birth certificate and as a result of his sponsorship she landed a free woman.
