Another name for Elisha was Elijah Marks. Ancestral File Number: 1ZJM-Q6B. General Notes: He had a bursa on his elbow which he decided to lance, it became infected and he lost his arm. He made toasting forks from twisted wire with one hand. He worked as a blacksmith in Crookwell. 7 Birth Notes: At "Markdale". Christening Notes: Though his baptism is recorded as "Elijah Marks" he seems to have always called himself "Elisha Marks". Burial Notes: Crookwell Cemetery Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Blacksmith. 3 • He worked as a Grazier in 1870 in Goulburn, Argyle County, New South Wales. 3 • He owned "Markdale" in 1872 in Bigga, Georgiana County, New South Wales. 10 • Living at Mr E Marks lives on the Eastern side of the creek, opposite the school. He has a "nice little holding"., Crooked Corner, Georgiana County, New South Wales in 25 Nov 1892. 11 12 This is the remaining 40 acres of Markdale owned by the family after selling 600 acres about 1861. • He has conflicting death information of 1939 and Auburn District, New South Wales, Australia. Elisha married Sarah Ann Quince, daughter of Edward Quince and Mary Coddington, in 1870 in Goulburn, Argyle County, New South Wales.2 3 5 (Sarah Ann Quince was born on 17 Oct 1852 in Swineshead, , Lincolnshire, England,3 4 13 14 died on 24 Jun 1918 in Crookwell, King County, New South Wales, Australia 4 3 9 15 and was buried on 25 Jun 1918 in Crookwell, King County, New South Wales, Australia 4 3 9.)
