Christine Charlotte (Carrico) Wischer,
born July 16, 1911 in Kirbyton, Carlisle Co., KY, the daughter
of Samuel Pious Carrico & Anna Ellis
Thompson. She was raised in Fancy Farm, Graves Co., KY. When she was
17 she got a job at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Kenton Co., KY.
In Covington she met Grandpa, Richard
John Wischer. They married April
5, 1932 in Fancy Farm, KY but lived in Kenton Co., for most of their
life together. They raised three children, Pat,
Dick & Jerry. Shortly before Grandpa died December
29, 1969, they sold the house in KY & moved into an apartment in
Cincinnati near where both Pat & Dick were living with their families.
Grandma survived Grandpa by 35 years. She died December
4, 2004 age 93 years.
We are only certain of our Carrico ancestry back to Alexander
AKA John A. Carrico who was born in MD sometime between 1776 & 1781.
The first mention we can find of Alexander is of his marriage January 4,
1800 in Montgomery Co., MD to Mary Sedgwick. We do not as yet know who
is parents were, and therefore cannot as yet connect our ancestry to Peter
Carricoe I, the immigrant. It is my hope perhaps that by sharing
what I have found & also with the help of others sharing their documents
& information here as well, that we may someday connect everyones Carrico
"Brick Wall" somehow. |
