Introduction
I began researching my Jasper County Abney family in 1995, shortly after retiring, by interviewing family members who were born and raised in Jasper County Mississippi, as I was. That work quickly expanded to out of state letters and many many telephone calls.
Additionally, I benefited greatly by the previous
work of Cousins John Hensell of Dallas TX, Blanche Shivers Abney of Forest,
LA and Jennie Abney Gant of Slidell, LA, and, current work of Cousin Raymond
Robert Abney of the Centralized Abney Archives. While others, who’s
links I have provided, have researched the Abney family lineage back to our
English and French roots, my work has been to bring our Mississippi Abney
family history forward, 1820 to the present….TO FIND ALL OF THE COUSINS!
