Bruce Brokaw was born at Visalia, California. At the time his parents lived at Woodlake. California, a small town just a few miles North of Visalia. When he was four years old they moved to Sanger, a suburb of Fresno, California. Bruce attended elementary and high schools there at Sanger, then graduated from California State University, Fresno, California with a degree in Physical Education. He married Lisa Joan Molich whom he met at Sanger High School. They were married at her parent's home in Sacramento, where they had moved a year after her graduation from high school. He obtained his teaching credential and began teaching history and government, first at McLane High School, in Fresno, then Reedly High School in Reedly, California. In 1987 he began teaching at Madera High School where he is at this writing. He has a great love of sports and has been a coach of many varsity level sports including football, swimming, wrestling and water polo, and his current assignment as golf coach for his employer.
Lisa Molich-Brokaw is also a graduate of California State University, Fresno and has been teaching third grade at Millview Elementary School in Madera since 1989.
