Castleman Ferry Bridge

In 1820, two years after he purchased "North Hill", David moved "Snickers Ferry" about a quarter of a mile downstream on the Shenendoah River from where it had been, and renamed it Castleman's Ferry. In 1940 the ferry was replaced by a bridge that has been known as Castleman's Ferry Bridge ever since. There is an Historical sign at the bridge approach commemerating the "Battle of Castleman's Ferry", fought there during the Civil War.
