"Solomon was a chief of the Delaware Nation as were his brothers Kistalwa and Roasting Ear, both of whom went to Texas with the Delawares. Their mother was probably the daughter of Captain Pipe. Solomon was a descendant of Chief Tamaned, the Delaware Chief after whom the great New York Democratic Society was named (of William Penn fame).
