The first LaRoux (that I've been able to document at this time) is Francois LaRoux, who, either "Died at sea" during the trip from Holland to New Amsterdam (New York), or "on the banks of the Hudson River" in 1689. The family consisted of Francois, his wife whose name I have not discovered and three children, one of whom was Abraham LaRoux and we find a record of him, in Esopus, Old Ulster (now called Kingston) New York in 1688 and 1692, relating to ownership and transfer of land.
