The Descendants of Peter Shriner

Peter Shriner was born in Virginia about 1766. The first record I found naming him was the German Reformed Church in Basil, Liberty, Ohio. Those records were written in German and listed Peter as "Peter Schreiner". From that I assumed Peter had been born in Germany and that Schreiner was the correct spelling of his last name. Since then it has become clear that Peter was born in the United States and usually spelled his name Shriner -- though at times he appears as Sriner or even Schriner.

He lived much of his adult life in Ohio, but after his wife's death moved to Whitley County, Indiana where he died. His descendants are mainly in Ohio and Indiana.
