On 10 August 1932, he married Mary Christine White in Perry County, Ohio. She is the daughter of William Henry White and Delpha Elizabeth Haydon. She was born 18 August 1914 in Glouster, Athens, Ohio. She died 16 June 1988 at age 73 in Glouster, Athens, Ohio. She is buried at Dew Cemetery, Corning, Perry, Ohio. This marriage ended in divorce. She later married Richard Post.
