On 9 Nov 1902, he married Perneshia Alice Williams in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas. Sometimes known as "Niece" and sometimes as Alice, she was born on Christmas day, 25 Dec 1884 in Canville Township, Neosho, Kansas. She is the daughter of James T. Williams and Lucinda Miller. She died 31 Aug 1970 at the age of 85 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas and was buried there on 3 Sep 1970.

1. Clair Ivan Bowman was born 13 Nov 1903 or, more likely 1905, in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas.
2. Charles Earl Bowman was born on Christmas Eve, 24 Dec 1903 or, more likely 1907, in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas. Earl, as he was known, died 8 Mar 1989 in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Florida and is buried in Florida.
3. Edith Lucinda Bowman was born 11 Dec 1910 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas. On 20 Feb 1941, she married Jacob Elonza Lona Shepard in Miami, Ottawa, Oklahoma. He is the son of Allen Shepard and Mary Jane Yockey. He was born 5 Oct 1890 in Urbana, Neosho, Kansas. He was previously married to Hazel Edna Winters. He died 15 Jul 1957 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas and was buried there on 18 Jul 1957. Edith died 19 Jul 1997 at the age of 86 in Dodge City, Ford, Kansas and was buried 21 Jan 1997 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas.
4. Mabel Gertrude Bowman was born 17 Oct 1913 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas. She died 11 Jan 1977 at the age of 63 in Argentine, Wyandotte, Kansas and was buried 15 Jan 1977 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas.
5. Chester Orville Bowman was born 21 Jun 1922 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas.

Notes

There must be an error on Clair or Charles Earl -- they can't have birthdays just one month apart! The 1910 Census (Lincoln, Neosho, KS. p. 2) and 1920 Census (Canville, Neosho, KS. p. 10) would suggest Clair was born about 1905 and Charles Earl about 1907.

The man Edith married, Jacob Shepard, was also the father (by an earlier marriage) of Clair's wife. Which made Edith both Clair's sister and step-mother-in-law.
