On 26 Aug 1941, he married Alma Marie Slife in Butler county, Missouri. She is the daughter of Oscar E. Slife and Rose May Heimberg. She was born 29 Aug 1915 in Black Rock, Lawrence, Arkansas. She died 10 February 2009 at age 93 in Chanute, Neosho, Kansas. On 13 February 2009, she was buried at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Humboldt, Allen, Kansas.
