Elizabeth A. Cassingham was born 31 Dec 1818 in Baltimore, Maryland (very shortly after the arrival of her family to America). She is the daughter of Thomas Cassingham (Sr.) and Phoebe Ford and the first Cassingham to be born on American soil. She died 16 Dec 1891 - just shy of her 73rd birthday - in Little Grant, Grant, Wisconsin. She is buried at Casler Cemetery, Mt. Hope, Grant, Wisconsin.

On 24 May 1840, she married Dutton Linton in Coshocton County, Ohio. He was born 19 Dec 1813/16 in Muskingum County, Ohio and died 29 Sep 1871 at the age of 54/57 in Little Grant, Grant, Wisconsin. He is buried at Casler Cemetery, Mt. Hope, Grant, Wisconsin.

  7. Phoebe Sophia Linton was born 16 May 1853 in Franklin County, Ohio.
  8. Albert James Linton was born 6 Sep 1855 in Ohio.
  9. Mary S. Linton was born 26 Apr 1859 in Wisconsin.
    • On 5 Oct 1879, she married Minor A. Tyler in Grant County, Wisconsin. He is the son of Louis A. Tyler and Rhoda Griffis. He was born about 1848/49 in Vienna, Trumbull, Ohio.
  10. Julia D. Linton was born 18 Jan 1862 in Wisconsin.
    • On 12 Aug 1883, she married Charles Keas (or Ceas) in Grant County, Wisconsin.

Notes

Elizabeth was the first Cassingham to be born in the U.S.   According to her father's citizenship oath, the family arrived at Baltimore on October 26, 1818. Elizabeth was born just five days later. Phoebe must have been very uncomfortable on that boat ride from England, being so pregnant at the time.
