Thomas E. Cassingham was born 4 Jan 1834 in Coshocton County, Ohio. He is the son of James Cassingham and Martha Oden. He died 2 Jan 1909 - just two days short of his 75th birthday - in Deer Creek, Miami, Indiana. He is buried at Old Miami Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana in a grave marked as a Civil War Veteran.

On 27 Mar 1855, he married Mary Catherine Taylor in Frazeysburg, Muskingum, Ohio. She was born 7 Jan 1835 in Muskingum County, Ohio. Her family moved to Miami County, Indiana when she was very young. She lived her whole life in that area. She died 15 Nov 1917 at age 82 in Washington, Miami, Indiana. She was buried in Old Miami Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.

  1. James Alpheus Cassingham was born 22 Feb 1856 in Piqua, Miami, Ohio.

Notes

Thomas served as a captain in the Mortion Rangers Six Brigade of the Indiana Legion during the Civil War. He served from 12 Jan 1864 to 10 Nov 1865.
