William Howard Linton is the son of Thomas Cassingham Linton and Lydia Winter. He was born 23 Aug 1869 in Mt. Hope, Grant, Wisconsin. He died 1 Jul 1943 at the age of 73 in Neillsville, Clark, Wisconsin and was buried there in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

On 1 Jul 1891, he married Lottie Lorene Goold in Fennimore, Grant, Wisconsin. She was born 10 Oct 1869 in Woodman, Grant, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Horace Goold and Sarah Lawrence. Lottie died 15 Nov 1957 at the age of 88 in Clarke County, Wisconsin. She was buried 18 Nov 1957 in the Neillsville City Cemetery, Neillsville, Clark, Wisconsin.
