Leroy Cassingham was born 18 January 1893 in Bosworth, Carroll, Missouri. Roy, as he was known, is the son of John Robinson Cassingham (Sr.) and Amanda Frances Staten. He died 4 March 1965 at age 72 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma.

• On 25 November 1917, he married (1) Florene E. King. She was born 19 December 1897 in Mississippi and died 5 April 1936 at about age 38 in Centralia, Craig, Oklahoma. She is buried at Westview Cemetery, Hollis, Harmon, Oklahoma.
• After spending 25 years as a widower, he married (2) Dorphe Ann Burge on 9 December 1962. She died 20 August 1967.
