John Lawrence Cassingham is the son of Carl Cassingham and Ethel Erwin Ryan. Larry, as he is known, was born 22 Dec 1918 in Carlsbad, Eddy, New Mexico. He died 23 Dec 2007 -- one day after his 89th birthday -- in Portola Valley, San Mateo, California.

In 1954, he married Marjorie Ellen Berg in California. Marge, as she is known, was born in 1924 in California. She is the daughter of John William Berg and Gladys Nilsen. She had previously been married to Charles Lee Dailey from whom she was divorced in 1948.
