Candace Amelia Barron is the daughter of Rachel Sophia Cassingham and Thomas McCrady Barron. She was born 20 May 1846 in Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. She died 12 Apr 1924 at the age of 77 in Muskingum County, Ohio. She was buried 14 Apr 1924 at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio.

On 8 Mar 1864, she married her first cousin, Silas Dwight Kain. He is the son of William Kirk Kain and Jane Barron. He was born 30 August 1838 in Erie, Erie, Pennsylvania. On 22 Apr 1861, he enlisted as a private in Company K of the 16th Infantry Regiment of Ohio during the Civil War. He was mustered out on 18 Aug 1861. Silas was a shoemaker. He died 16 Mar 1910 at age 71 in Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. He was buried 19 Mar 1910 at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio.

  2. William Herbert Kain was born 15/16 Mar 1868 in Newark, Licking, Ohio. He died 30 Oct 1918 at age 50 in Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. He was buried 1 Nov 1918 at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. He apparently never married.
  3. Edward Barron Kain was born 23/29 Jan 1871 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio. He died 24 Jun 1950 at age 79 in Los Angeles County, California.
    • About 1903, he married Louise E. (unknown). She was born 1870/1871 in Iowa.
  4. Lilla Jane Kain was born 2 Nov 1873 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio. She died 27 Jan 1950 at age 76 in Muskingum County, Ohio and is buried in Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. She apparently never married.
  5. Bessie Session Kain was born 23 Mar 1877 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio.
    • Sometime after 1910, she married Mr. Gregory who died before 1930.
  6. Mabel Amelia Kain was born 16 May 1881 in Dresden, Muskingum, Ohio. She died 22 Mar 1966 in Muskingum County, Ohio.
    • Sometime before 1910, she married (1) Ogden H. Henderson. He died before 1920.
    • About 1927, she married (2) Fred G. Curtis. He was born about 1862/1863 in Ohio. He died before Mabel.

Lilla is also listed as Lillian.
